Discovering Science

Discovering Science: Practical activities in biology, chemistry and physics is packed full of activities for secondary science teachers working with ages 11-14. In this book you will cover topics in biology, chemistry, and physics specifically looking at practical activities for each of these topics, where each activity is designed to support independent learning. Each topic follows the same format to assit with ease of use. You will find each section consists of a question being posed which is then followed by a suggested method and then key questions are asked. Detailed scientific explanations for each activity are also provided, to help reinforce scientific learning and understanding when planning lessons with practical activities. The format of this book is intended to make it easy to follow and use, each section can be read  independently allowing teachers and practitioners to easily dip in and out of the book when they need to. Many of the activities offer novel, hands-on, minds-on ways for students to explore scientific ideas and phenomena, and each has been ‘tried and tested’ in the classroom.
