Teaching pupils about menstruation can be a daunting task; Hey Girls have put together a teacher training kit help schools have positive conversations with their pupils about periods. We know that there is a very wide spectrum of what, how and when education about periods is delivered in schools. Existing PSHE / RSHP guidelines mention periods, but not in great detail. With schools in Scotland providing free period products for pupils, and England and Wales following suit, now is the time to ensure all pupils have access to high quality education about periods.
The kit includes a range of disposable and reusable items, introducing pupils to the options available to them as well as raising awareness of the impact period products have on the environment.
The teacher training kit includes:
• 1 box of pantyliners - Made from bamboo and corn starch Hey Girls panty liners are both absorbent and comfy.
• 1 box of daytime period pads - Natural bamboo and corn fibre – sustainable and environmentally friendly
• 1 box of regular digital tampons - 100% certified organic cotton
• 1 box of super applicator tampons - Bio-based sugar cane compact applicator
• 1 small menstrual cup – Comfy, latex and phlatlate free reusable menstrual cups made from medical grade silicone
• 1 reusable day pad – Made from 2 layers of micro-fibre bamboo
