This flat-top island incorporates 4 shelves into its design, with one shelf on each side of the unit. Compared to alternative book storage, a 4-sided island saves space both in width and height whilst holding the same number of books. The shorter height is also perfect for young children to browse and select books of their own accord, encouraging the development of a lifelong interest in reading.
As there are multiple shelves, it is easy to separate books into themes such as subject, genre or age range, making for quick and easy navigation. Similarly, the mixture of wide and narrow shelves helps accommodate both small and large book collections, and allows tall books to be laid horizontally without harming the aesthetic. In addition to books; resources such as toys, games, stationery or even ornaments can be stored on the shelves, depending on your storage needs and how the top of the unit will be used.
The top of the unit has an endless variety of uses.
