Introducing the Kawai GL-10 ATX4 Anytime Grand Piano

The Kawai GL-10 is the smallest model in Kawai's grand piano lineup, delivering superb value for money while benefiting from the same high build and component quality Kawai pianos are known for.

While only 5'1 in length, the piano benefits from a solid spruce soundboard, making it class leading at its price point. The GL10 is also fitted with the Millennium III ABS-carbon action making the piano incredibly responsive with superb balance and control.

Fitted with the latest Anytime system, ATX4, the piano is a perfect compromise for those who require the aesthetic, response and tonality of an acoustic grand piano, but also might need to practice at unsociable hours. Unlike the outgoing model, this Anytime Series GL-10 grand piano is fitted with the same system as the larger GL-30 and GX-2 ATX models, meaning there is no compromise on digital performance, despite the acoustic piano itself being more compact.

Kawai's all new ATX4 Anytime system enables private practice via headphones and so much more, with USB, MIDI and Bluetooth connectivity. The system is now better than ever before, with improved SK-EX concert grand piano sampling and controlled wirelessly via an app for iOS and Android devices. Gone is the touchscreen panel built into the cheek block, cleverly disguising that this is no ordinary acoustic upright piano!

Millennium III Action

The ground-breaking Millennium III Action utilises components made of ABS-Carbon—a composite material infused with carbon fibre. ABS-Carbon is incredibly strong and rigid, meaning that GL Series action parts can be made lighter without sacrificing strength. The result is a stronger, faster action that offers more power, better control and greater stability than conventional all-wood actions.

Tapered, solid spruce soundboard

The purpose of the soundboard is to transform the vibrations of the piano’s strings into a rich, resounding tone. Kawai uses only straight-grained, quarter-sawn solid spruce for GL Series soundboards. Each one is strategically tapered to provide the optimum degree of resonant movement in each region. Only soundboards that meet or exceed our demanding resonance standards are selected for use in the GL Series grand pianos.

Soft-closing fallboard

While the entry-level model in the grand piano range, the Kawai GL-10 also benefits from a soft-closing lid or fallboard. A luxurious feature previously only high end instruments and means no more trapped fingers!

Stretcher Overlap Integrated Design (SOLID)

SOLID construction creates an exceptionally rigid foundation to support string tension. First, the pinblock is fitted to the plate. Then, the pinblock and over-lapping stretcher bar are integrated into a single structure and solidly anchored to the rim. The extraordinary thickness of the stretcher bar highlights the structural integrity of this framework designed to ensure stable tuning and powerful tone.
