This kinderbox incorporates 6 bays on top, and a single underneath storage shelf on one side, helping you fulfil different storage needs without having to buy multiple expensive, space consuming units. The open design of the top compartments intends to draw in children with the front cover of a book – many of which are purposely designed to stimulate the imagination and encourage an interest in reading – as well as categorise contents in a way that best suits the needs of the user. It is possible to separate books into subject, genre, age range or size for example, or use each bay to store different types of item, such as toys or games. Organising in this way also makes it much easier for children to navigate, quickly and easily finding something that appeals to them with just a glance. The underneath shelf on the other hand is useful for storing more academia-heavy books for which visibility of the cover is not a priority, as well as stationery, equipment or even décor to spruce up your space.
Due to the number of bays, it is possible for multiple children to use the kinderbox at the same time without having to wait their turn. This speeds things up in a classroom, and encourages children to be social by discussing what they have found. Larger books, toys and games are also difficult to store elsewhere, particularly at a height that is suited to young children, making this box extremely useful in environments where play is encouraged. The child-friendly height also empowers children with greater responsibility for gathering their own resources and tidying them away, and lets them choose to read of their own accord compared to taller, less accessible book storage solutions
