Design
Each side of the bookcase features 2 fixed shelves to create 3 shelf tiers, suitable for not only books, but lever arch files, pen pots, toys, ornaments and more. Compared to the adjustable shelves commonly found with alternatives, fixed shelves are much more secure and will hold heavier books without any problems.
By incorporating two sides, the bookcase can also remain short in height for younger children to use, and enables the top of the unit to be treated as an additional storage shelf.
As a mobile unit, the bookcase can easily be wheeled out when both sides require access, and doesn’t need to be left in the centre of a room like a static unit. This is great news for smaller spaces without much open space, where the bookcase can instead be neatly stored against a wall when not in use. The design also features lockable castors for safety whether in storage or in use.
Construction
This unit is constructed using 18mm thick melamine faced chipboard (MFC); a classroom favourite that assures high-level strength and durability with frequent, heavy use.
