An enjoyable Christmas craft that will get going in no time. All the shapes are pre-cut, so there is no need for scissors or templates - ideal for the early years. This pack makes 50 decorations, so the whole class can be involved in the same session. Simply choose a shape and glue one of the corresponding patterned paper cut-outs onto it. Thread the ribbon through the pre-punched hole to complete the bauble. Once made, add to the Christmas tree or hang in winter window displays. Children can even add a message to Santa on the back, or create miniature hanging Christmas cards.
Sorting and matching strengthens shape recognition. Younger children can mix the templates up and then sort into matching shapes. They could even count how many of each there are and practice subtraction every time one is decorated.
