Introducing the Percussion Plus Honestly Made Wooden spoons

Slap the spoons against the palm of the hand or leg to produce a wide range of clap sounds. Lower tones can be produced by cupping your hand and you can experiment using different surfaces to produce a range of sounds.

Made with traditional materials using fair trade principles, these lightweight wooden spoons are easy to play, and they are great fun for all ages. They are a great choice for anyone to play from schools to orchestras.

These wooden spoons are sourced using fair trade principles. See below for more information about the Honestly Made range of musical instruments from percussion plus.

These items are musical instruments, not toys, and there may be many small parts on, or in, some of them. Younger players should use them with supervision.

Experiment using you own sounds

To play these wooden spoons, simply slap them against a surface, flat or curved, to produce a variety of ‘clippity-clop’ sounds. The more curved the surface then the lower the tone for example, cupping your hand will produce a lower tone than slapping the spoons against a flat palm.

Hand carved with traditional materials and methods

These wooden spoons have been carved from responsibly sourced Suar wood which is sturdy, lightweight and reliable and the handle is comfortable, making them easy to play. With no training required this is perfect for young musicians to play and have fun, providing them with a great sensory experience.
