Single Sided Book Browser, Static - 3 Bay Kinderbox & 1 Shelf
YPO See all from this supplier
This unit combines the functions of a kinderbox with those of shelf storage to create the ultimate book storage solution. To save money on a tight budget or save space in a small classroom, this economical 2-in-1 book browser is an absolute essential.
Design
This single-sided book browser is designed with 3 bays on top, and 1 shelf compartment as underneath storage on one side of the unit. A design of this type allows books, toys and games to be stored on top in a way that best suits the needs of the user, whereas the shelf can be used to store more academia-heavy books, files, or spare materials that don’t need to be displayed.
With this number of bays, it is possible to separate books into subject, genre, age range or size for example, or use each one to store a different type of item. Organising in this way makes it much easier for children to navigate, and the open design in comparison to standard bookshelves helps children to quickly and easily find something that appeals to them with just a glance. The design also allows children to be drawn in by the front cover of a book, which are commonly designed to stimulate the imagination and encourage an interest in reading.
As there are 3 bays, it is possible for multiple children to use the unit at the same time without having to wait their turn. This speeds things up in a classroom, and encourages children to be social by discussing what they have found. Larger books, toys and games are also difficult to store elsewhere, particularly at a height that is suited to young children, making this box extremely useful in environments where play is encouraged.
By storing lower priority or curriculum books in the lower compartments where visibility isn’t a priority, you can fulfil different storage needs without having to buy multiple expensive, space consuming units. Although this is the most common use, the shelves can be used for anything from personal storage to décor – or wherever else your imagination takes you!
The unit itself is static for permanent status and safe usage in any environment. This, in combination with its single-sided design, makes it ideal for small classrooms that need to keep furniture stored against a wall and will not require any mobility.
Construction
The book browser is constructed using 18mm thick melamine faced chipboard (MFC), a common material in classrooms due to its strength and durability under frequent handling. This durability allows us to proudly offer a 25 year guarantee, so your school can use its tight budget wisely. The MFC used in this product is FSC certified.
