Introducing the Yamaha CD-S303 CD player
The Yamaha CD-S303 is a high quality CD player which includes special features such as Pure Direct, Intelligent Digital Servo, USB, MP3/WMA/LPCM/FLAC compatibility. Having inherited many of the sound quality features from high end CD player components, the CD-S303 provides sound that will satisfy both casual and devoted music fans.
As well as CDS, it also delivers high-quality play of music files stored on USB memory devices via a USB port on the front panel. What's more, information about the currently playing CD is shown on the CD player's display, displaying the CD's title, the artist's name and the title of the track playing.
Plus, with the CD-S303, you can easily program the tracks you want to play in any order you'd like, and you can also clear the program you've set up at any time with a single touch.
Pure Direct
Pure Direct is the same popular feature included in Yamaha amplifiers and receivers. By pressing the button on the front panel or remote, it shuts down the digital audio output and turns off the display. By doing this, it achieves the lowest possible noise interference and therefor the highest sound quality of the analog audio output.
Sophisticated Circuitry and Layout
Yamaha technicians have spent a huge amount of time and effort designing the interior layout of parts and circuit boards for the CD-S303, something which greatly affects sound quality. Due to this dedication, the power supplies for the motor drive, display and USB sections, as well as the digital and analog sections are all individually isolated, eliminating any electromagnetic interference between them. To achieve ideal weight balance for stable performance, the drive mechanism is located in the centre of the unit.
Short Signal Paths
Due to the highly logical and symmetrical internal layout of parts and circuit boards, the signal paths on each board are kept as short as possible. This is purposefully part of the design because by keeping the paths between sections straight and short, it minimises the chance of signal loss or interference, something which isn't very easy to achieve.
Well-Matched, High Quality Parts
Each of the individual elements in a CD player influences the sound quality, which is why Yamaha has put in loads of effort into selecting and matching parts and materials. Just a few examples of Yamaha's commitment to fantastic sound quality can be seen in the the high-grade acoustic capacitor, new low-noise, the high-gain bandwidth op amp plus the use of damping material under the transformer and around the cables. Overall, the CD-S303's internal sophistication is on a level generally found on far more expensive models.
High Performance D/A Converter
By utilising a 192 kHz/24-bit DAC, the high-performance D/A conversion system takes full advantage of the digital technology refined by Yamaha over the years, ensuring excellent excellent conversion precision as well as S/N ration and dynamic range.
Laser Pickup Floating Mechanism
The laser pickup is isolated on a floating mechanism so its delictae operation cannot be affected by vibration.
Intelligent Digital Servo
Conventional tracking servo circuitry can't completely overcome errors caused by warped discs, dust and other issues. This system therefore uses a dependable DSP (Digital Signal Processor), exclusive for CDs, to monitor the signal, adjusting pickup tracking and focus, as well as spindle motor speed, to compensate for any problems.
Enjoy your MP3, WMA, LPCM, AAC and FLAC Music
The USB port on the front panel means you can easily enjoy high wuality sound from MP3, WMA, LPCM, AAC and FLAC digital music files stored on USB memory devices. You can also play files recorded on CD-R/RW discs.
Other Noteable Features
The CDS303 also includes 10-key direct track and direct access, random play, repeat play (full/single), 3-Mode time display, 4 illumination levels, last track resume, ready mode and play mode memory.
